Fewer boys born in England and Wales in early stage of the pandemic
The covid-19 pandemic has been linked to a decline within the proportion of male infants being born, in step with earlier findings that fewer boys are born after population-wide annoying occasions

There have been fewer male infants born in England and Wales in mid 2020 than anticipated, probably as a result of the stress of the covid-19 pandemic led to extra being pregnant losses of male fetuses.
Exterior of the pandemic, extra male infants are usually born than feminine ones. Between 2012 and 2020, 1054 boys have been born for each 1000 ladies annually on common in England and Wales.
